Planet Hairspray is the neon-lit, leather-clad rocket ride you didn’t know your soul was missing. With tributes to the gods of glam like Mötley Crüe, Poison, and Def Leppard. On Planet Hairspray, every night is 1989 — and the only rule is more hairspray!!
With a voice that could melt steel and hair that defies gravity, Mojo Phoenix is the electrifying frontman of Planet Hairspray, the ultimate 1980's hair metal tribute experience. Born with a microphone in one hand and a can of Aqua Net in the other, Mojo brings the glam, grit, and glory of the Sunset Strip to every stage he rocks.
Cutting his teeth in smoky bars and battle of the bands brawls, Mojo channels the vocal power of icons like David Lee Roth, Axl Rose, Sebastian Bach and Vince Neil, delivering pitch perfect screams and swagger laced showmanship. Offstage he's a lover of leather pants, Gibson Les Paul's and whiskey shots.
When Mojo hits the spotlight, it's not just a show- it's a full throttle time warp to rock's most decadent decade.
Vinny Daniels is a hard-hitting, electrifying guitarist whose name became synonymous with the golden era of Hollywood's hair metal scene in the late 1980s. Raised on a steady diet of classic rock and metal, Vinny's passion for the guitar started at an early age, and by the time he was in his teens, he was already shredding his way through the works of Eddie Van Halen, Randy Rhoads, and Joe Satriani.
After graduating from high school, Vinny pursued his dream of becoming a professional guitarist at the prestigious Guitar Institute of Technology (GIT) in Los Angeles. There, he honed his technical skills and expanded his musical versatility, learning everything from classical techniques to jazz improvisation. But it was the raw power and speed of rock 'n' roll that always called to him.
Vinny's breakout moment came when he joined Planet Hairspray with fellow musicians who shared his love for big hair, tight pants, and arena anthems. With his lightning-fast solos, catchy riffs, and stage presence that could melt the paint off a wall, Vinny quickly became a key figure in the LA music scene. The band spent the next few years touring relentlessly.
Despite the chaotic party lifestyle that defined the era, Vinny remained focused on his craft, often spending hours in his home studio, perfecting his guitar tones and writing the next big hit. His signature sound—an intoxicating mix of melodic solos and face-melting riffs—helped define the sound of '80s rock.
Although his star eventually waned as the grunge movement took hold, Vinny’s influence remained undeniable. He went on to work as a session guitarist, contributing to numerous albums, soundtracks, and even collaborating with emerging artists, maintaining a dedicated fanbase throughout the years.
Vinny Daniels is remembered as one of the true guitar virtuosos of Hollywood’s hair metal heyday—an era of excess, electric energy, and timeless music. Whether tearing up the stage or jamming in the studio, his legacy lives on in the riffs that still resonate with fans of classic rock and metal today.
Chadwik hails from the heartland of Iowa—home to heavy-hitting icons like Slipknot and Stone Sour. He spent three decades in the Denver music scene, laying down thunderous bass lines for metal powerhouse Moore (Nightwing Records) and the goth-industrial force Platoon 13 (Cleopatra Records), recording and touring extensively with both bands. Now, Chadwik brings his signature low-end power to Planet Hairspray, keeping the groove alive and loud. His playing is fueled by the influences of Ace Frehley, Nikki Sixx, and Steve Harris.
Damien Dagger—a Huntington Beach native with a classically trained soul and a six-string heart, who cut his teeth in the chaos of the L.A. punk and glam scenes.
Damien’s roots run deep, from the angst-driven riffs of Charlie Don’t Surf and Braineaters to the technicolor shred-fest that is Planet Hairspray. Backing vocals, blistering solos, and the occasional surprise piano breakdown—he brings it all, throwing down everything he’s got in service of the band's vision.
But Damien’s no lone axe-slinger. He's joined by four other righteous rockers, each a powerhouse in their own right. Together, they form a motley crüe (yeah, we said it) of musicians with one mission: to blow the roof off every dive bar, club, and festival that dares book them.
Their sets are equal parts glam, grit, and glory—where face-melting solos meet harmonized choruses, leather meets lace, and the past meets the now in a haze of Aquanet and amplifier smoke.
Planet Hairspray isn’t just a band. It’s a brotherhood. A time machine. A damn good time.
